Let me start off with, this is a harder task than I realize. Please email me with any questions, suggestions, why or why not you would do this. Anything that could help me make this happen, would greatly be appreciated. I have also talked to the teachers about doing a drop-in once or twice, for those who are not sure they want to commit. If you are interested in this please let me know.

    Thank you

I have 2 teachers that I am working with, and 2 others, that I am still trying to figure out a min participates/$$/location

    Option 1:
http://www.chessteachers.org Zack Fishman in Lincoln Park. He will charge $120 an hour (12 week commitment) and that would be divided up by how many sign up. I would want to have a min of 10 to keep the price down and that would be $144 a child.

    Option 2: non-profit organization
http://www.shulmanchess.com Yury Shulman in Barrington. $132 for 1 hour class for 11 weeks
$100 for the second child. Can work out price if you have more than 2 children signing up
$93 if the parents decide to take the class with them. (that is 30% off) I need 5 kids to make this one happen.
Monday, Wednesday or Thursday from 11-12

I have met Yuri and had my kids take his drop-in class. I was very impressed, and he has an impressive resume.

SIGNIFICANT ACCOMPLISHMENTS for Yuri Shulman include:

    International Chess Grandmaster (1995)
National Belarus champion (June 1994) and co-champion (1998)
Top Sportsman Award, Republic of Belarus (1994)

    Dear Chicago Homeschool Habitat,

I have just decided three days ago to withdraw my two boys from public school at Ray Elementary School.
I am very new to all of this and wondered if anyone could meet with me who lives and homeschools in Hyde Park. I feel overwhelmed already by all that is out there but I don’t drive and would love to know what is happening here locally.

Thanks so much for any and all help/information.

    Best,

    Laura Shaeffer
