Wow, this looks like a great opportunity for homeschoolers!  Thanks to Wini for sending it.

The Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA) is excited to
invite you and your program participants to our event created
specifically for the home schooled community, “Day of Discovery”, on
Friday, October 26, 2007. We will be offering a full morning of
interactive learning experiences for students aged 10-15.
Students and their parents will have a number of opportunities to engage with the
IMSA community. Whether it be sitting in on the keynote address by
Noble Laureate and IMSA Resident Scholar, Dr. Leon Lederman, attending
a session led by one of the state’s finest Nationally Board Certified
mathematics or science teachers, or joining in the fun of one of our
hands-on program activities, home schooled students interested in
mathematics, science and technology and their parents will leave IMSA
having had a “decidedly different” day of learning.

In order to make this event a success, we need your help! We are
inviting you to identify a member of your organization (a coordinator,
instructor, program advocate, or family liaison) to serve in a panel
discussion on “Home Schooling Resources for the High School
Experience”. Please let us know by Friday, October 5th if you or
someone you know would be interested in participating.

Also, to make sure all home school families across Illinois are aware
of “Day of Discovery” with the Illinois Mathematics and Science
Academy, we are asking for your support in extending our invitation to
this free event to the members of your organization. When you receive
your electronic invitation, we welcome you to forward it (or the
necessary information) to your members directly.

Please contact Amy Conyers, Coordinator of Admissions, at 630-907-5028
or aconyers@imsa.edu for more details on
the event itself, to indicate your interest in participating on the
panel, and/or to advise us on other individuals we should contact
directly in order to serve your organization’s membership more

We look forward to the opportunity to work with you further in making
this day a success!
